Joe Biden Says there is no Wisdom in Keeping Donald Trump in the Know of Intelligence Briefings
The United States has a long-standing history of keeping the previous presidents in the know of issues of national security. For instance, this meant that ex-president George Bush will have been receiving such briefs during ex-president’s Barack Obama’s time in the Oval Office. However, this may be about to change with Donald Trump as the current ex-president.
Why Ex-President Donald Trump may not be done this Favor?
The new white house administrators and several key players believe that allowing the ex-president to be aware of sensitive issues of national security is a terrible idea. They claim that this is not about the love lost between the outgone and current president.
Rather, it is about the question of Donald Trump’s history and if he can be trusted with such a sensitive report from time to time. In making his point, the current president considered his predecessor as unfit for this privilege because of his “erratic” conduct.
In expressing his opinion, a political analyst explained that “frankly, there seems to be a valid point raised by the president on this one. As a matter of fact, it is more of a valid point than his costly relief package. Over and over again, Donald Trump’s statements and actions have sent the wrong message as seen with the insurrection on the 6th of January 2021”.
How will it End?
There are two ways this can end. It is either the administration extends the honor to the ex-president for the sake of the long-standing tradition. However, as noted by President Joe Biden, the ex-president is a very controversial character and there may be severe consequences if this is done.
Should the new administration sideline Donald Trump on this matter, some very conservative republicans may retaliate in one way or the other. So, we hope to see how the White House administrators go about dealing with this issue in the best interest of the nation.
